Designed to serve as a marketplace for the purchase of digital gift cards, SupportOthers.online is meant to help customers connect with local businesses and pre-pay for good and services. The initiative is aimed at helping local businesses stay afloat and financially stable until the end of the coronavirus pandemic or such a time when they can reopen.
As of now, social distancing is the new normal and people across the globe are trying their best to beat the virus and protect themselves and their loved ones from the virus by maintaining social distancing and staying indoors. This has made a deep dent in the economy of small and local businesses that rely on foot traffic for sales. These businesses have lost their livelihoods are some are even unable to pay their employees. SupportOthers.online was thus created to make a difference to the lives of these business owners by allowing their customers to support them through the pandemic.
Once registered with SupportOthers.online, businesses can create listings that can help their customers locate them in order to make secure payments today in exchange for services and goods that will be available once services are restored post the pandemic. Customers who purchase gift cards can save them as documents of purchase which can be redeemed later.
Once a customer purchases a gift card, it is SupportOthers.online’s responsibility to deliver it to the right customer. We can only do so when customers accurately provide correct information. Once delivered, the safekeeping of the gift card is entirely the customers’ responsibility and not SupportOthers.online’s. It is imperative to understand that ONE GIFT CARD CAN ONLY BE REDEEMED ONCE. In case customers fail to use the full value of the gift card at one go, the prerogative of whether to refund the balance or exchange it for another gift card lies with the business in question.
It is also important to remember that gift cards are valid for two years. After two years since being issued, their value expires, making it unfit for further use. Gift cards purchased for a certain business can only be redeemed with that business.
Fulfilling a gift card is the responsibility of the business as and when customers choose to or are able to redeem the card. It is also responsible for complying with all rules, laws and regulations that are applicable. In case customers need information regarding a gift card they purchased, they can contact the business in question for further details. Due to the volatile nature of the global coronavirus pandemic, SupportOthers.online cannot fully guarantee that a vendor will manage to remain available to redeem a gift card. SupportOthers.online also does not personally endorse any of the businesses registered with it or guarantee the accuracy of the information provided. In case customers choose to purchase a gift card, the value of the card and the wisdom in choosing to purchase it shall solely be determined by the customers themselves. SupportOthers.online is not in any way responsible for any unforeseen event that occurs following the sale of the card.
